A do do DO

What are you doing on here?
My best friend and her hubby came over for a BBQ this evening.  The hunkster hubby is trying to get his project off the ground:  our getaway car wrapped up in a 1979 Porsche.  Sound pretty fantastic doesn't it, except when you dwell on the fact that you haven't had a spin for 4 years (at least).

Why life ain't fair
What is it that a guy can have a "project" last for eons and cost mucho moola without a poof of smoke or a vroom vroom.  I should, to be fair, state that the car was started and the cloud of smoke was worse than any carbon tax register.

The girls are gals
We did a fabulous job of hanging out on the driveway while our hunks piddle and screwed around (with screwdrivers) with tools and we were content.  Ask us 50 somethings whether we could turn back time and put the breaks on these never-ending project that suck mucho moola out of the funds.

To be fair
We may have extended ourselves beyond the requirements: do we need those many shoes or purses?    Our defense mechanism is that we need as many pairs of shoes as they need tools.

Take that!?!!
Truth be told, we really don't need those many purses, shoes or accessories as they need tools.  But never has anyone argued with the "in case".  The tool that is bought because it is needed for the specific time is far different than the "in case' that particular tool meets a specific requirement is like that purse or pair of shoes that we buy "in case" we need it.

An explanation or evasion?
My greatest friend, who has known me since we worth both 18, starting out at college asked me what the big fuss was about social media?  She said anything she has crossed paths with is nega-tive.  She links it to negative association or being tricked into saying something or her kids being trapped into something.  Something that they should avoid at all cost.

An explanation or defense?
If you find yourself fooling around on social media, we have to be prepared to defend why we do what we do do DO.    As I said to my dearest friend, or tried to explain to her, social media is not a news cast, or about what is trending in the news, or what has people all hopped up about.

Occupation or preoccupation?
To try to explain to a non-participant is a challenge.  It isn't like I get paid to tweet, blog or post.  I tried to tell her that you can be recog-nized for your efforts.  To try to explain how it can be measured is like trying to defend why smoking or drinking alcohol is okay.

About writing or expression?
My very best friend who has known me for so many years, through some challenges, and championed triumphs, asked me:  "When did you decide you liked to write?"  It was awkward.  I was reacting defensively at first.  Then I had to internalize the question and think about the answer in it's realism:  I didn't know I loved to write until I started to write and I felt this physical release.  It was like I could just write and it dissipated those worries or thoughts.

The reaction to attraction
Whether it is from a post of words, a quote that resonates from you inner being, or an image that just seems just too cool not to share.  Writing, posting or blogging on social media is a source for saying how you really feel, what you think to be true, or what would help others.

A piece of the peace
There is a peace that envelopes you when you can be expressive through means that are outside your own creation.  Whether it is a reaction to what is happening or a thought on what could be a reaction to what is going on around us.  Writing a blog, posting on social media, is found at the inner core of our being.

Embrace Friday the 13th as if it means only the #bestofeverything

Yes, you got it :: today is Friday the 13th and you had better not have been belly aching about bad luck, this or that.  Have a listen to this swan song that came out in 1980 from the Talking Heads that pokes fun and demystifies complaining and inspires us to get a move on if we want what we want:

Once in a lifetime
Is pretty startling.  It is a resonating message that today, May 13, 2016, is once in a lifetime.  You will not have another chance to relive it.  So make it worth a story worth telling.

I was fiddling around with my camera app on my laptop and decided to ignore it and just get down to writing, darn it.

I am all showered and made up to head out and meet my husband as we drop our inherited car off to have new tires put on.

Inherited?  Well, it's part of the 50s inheritance plan :: It's when you cosign a car loan and your daughter decides to head out to make her mark in the world, leaving you with the loan so you start driving it.

Now you may get the reason why I have the gadget to the right with cars called "Pump this ride".  It is my expressive rebellion on taking responsibility over want.

I realized that I really don't post many pictures of myself so I did a couple of selfies to show that I'm not short on attitude, just in height.

My husband is already texting me to see if I've left - we're meeting in an hour and 15 for darn's sake - my way of gaining control over my life is being late more often than not.  That's from a gal who was meticulous about being on time, so much so that I was always 20 minutes early for everything and had to fight the boredom of waiting.

So I'll write about the favorite makeup used today later on.  The texts are coming speedily and if I want to meet my husband after work again, I'd better disprove his "always late" label for me (which wouldn't be far from the truth).

Remember to make today, your BEST day ever!!

I'm not a BLOGGER, I'm a BIG THINKER

The most disturbing thing that happened to me.  I am more than a Blogger.  I'm a bbbiiiiiiigggggg thinker.  How else would you explain the phenomenon of having more than one blog now?

WEAK? WRECKS? A little arrogant wouldn'tchasay?

I started @optioneerJM more as an experiment.  I was at a phase in my life where meaningful career seemed more important than just about anything.  I was intimidated by social media.  I was fascinated.  Talk about the BIGGEST chat outlet in the world eh?  With offshoots who climb the ladder like #Twitter and  Facebook's Mark or a big engine that is driving information to the cloud ahead of Apple by a long moon shot, Google.

The latest phenomenon I had was this unrelenting addition of followers on Facebook.  Now Twitter has been a steady climb to 16,000 followers.  Yet this influx by Facebook is simply amazing.  I do think we cross paths with the same quality of person you represent:  ethical, honest, integrity, intelligent, creative, artistic, caring, smart, savvy, quick thinking, think tank establishment member, influencer, klout, KRED, in your city, country or area of interest.

Let's be clear::: there are 90% male and 10% female adding me at an alarming rate.  I wouldn't think that a 54 year old gal from Calgary, Canada could generate this much interest.  Perhaps all looped under my real name::: Jeannette Marshall.  I want my karma under check because what I'm sending out to the world is a rich benefactor, not a rich husband looking for a blonde-haired, green-eyed dynamo.

OK, granted I am a little feisty.  I have closeted that in focused avoided negativity persona.  And there are days when I think::: life sucks.  Or other days when someone pisses me off and all I want to do is rant about it.

That is why the #bestofeverything people think outside the box!

Maybe there is an untapped side to me in social media::: the ranting side.  Don't worry, that doesn't impact my image of fashionista and unofficial Ambassador of Menopausal women everywhere.

Nor the status of upstanding citizenship and classy demeanor.

Stay tuned for what I liked from tonight's #criticsaward #bestofeverything with pinash and pizazz in my Blog to follow::: I'll wait a little bit and hold off on the new ranting side ::: but then again, I think I sorted did::: ranting where I had no audience basically and as likely as this and my other blogs, or I should say least likely to read.

Wishing you a fantastic, successful, fashionista sensation in 2016!

The more inner side of +Jeannette Marshall of the soon-to-be ranting #FAME
